Updates
Flashbacks!
25 February 2009This update will be full of flashbacks, and no, I'm not talking about something from the sixties. It's been a long time since we've written an update (October 2008 - almost 4 months ago!) so we have a lot to catch up on.
Unwanted Guests
7 October 2008The grass fields next to our house are slowly but surely being rooted up by a "Plague of Wild Swine" that have been ravaging the countryside. They come back night after night, leaving deep furrows and patches of upturned grass in their wake. At first, we tried putting the patches back, but to no avail. All we can do now is to hope that they move on.
July Update
4 July 2008Summer has finally arrived here in Holland. We had some beautiful days when my, Rodney's, parents were here in April, and a few others since then, but it has mostly been rainy up until a few days ago. In fact, last Wednesday, the temperature got into the upper 80's, which may not seem like much, but it was very humid.
Update on Sarah
12 June 2008It was 3 weeks ago today that Sarah came home from her two-night stay in the hospital. In the week after that we first stopped her inhaler, and then the prednisone. We were a little nervous about how she would respond after stopping the medicine, but she hasn't show any signs of asthma or difficulty breathing.
Summer 2007
17 August 2007For a few weeks in July and August, Heidebeek looked more like a tent camp than a YWAM base. An outsider might have wondered if the Children of Israel had suddenly been transported to the future and had camped out in the grass fields of Heidebeek.
This was all due to a number of activities that took place here this Summer. Starting with Boomerang tours for teenagers, then GO Teams for young people, and finally Family Camp. We also had a 3-week Mini-DTS here, but they stayed in the dorms.
